If its impossible to race them this year I would give them all the training I possible could as personally I dont like to winter youngsters that havnt been well trained or raced.

thanks mate by all the training do you mean take then 50 60 100 miles or longer or shorter.

start them off slowly from about 5 miles then when they beatin u home  build it up 5 mile at a time and keep that up till u hit the  30 mile marker n giv them as much as u can but only on sunny days and not cold winds all way thru winter the more the better as it,s all education for when they race nxt year  ;)

If you can't race, I'd take 'em as far as I could. 10 mile first toss and keep 'em there for 10/15 chucks then put em further in 25 mile stages. I'd stop when I get them down to about 33% of what I started with. If we get the summer weather we had last year you may only get them 50 mile lol. If all was well I'd have 'em to the coast 120 / 150 mile.

Late breds can wait till the warm summer weather though.

In my opinion in addition to personal private training young birds need experience of being liberated in a big batch going to different lofts, they will get experience of 'breaking from the batch' for their home. If you are a club member, try and get a couple of trainers in with fellow members, or ask around for anyone running a  training lorry.
