chrisbonnie Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 my dad just got his new loft built today (from Park Hall Timber Products, a full report to follow ) so we now have to kit out both the young bird and yearling sections the season gone was his first season, so he only had a small 10x8 loft, split in 2, stock in one section, all the young b irds in the other, the new loft has 4 sections though, so there's more scope to play around whats the best set up for the youngters, perches, boxes? what would you chaps advise?
OLDYELLOW Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 boxes more managable and easier to motivate and catch birds
wilkins Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 boxes more managable and easier to motivate and catch birds would go with boxes and grids on them unless you scrape 2-3 times a day
Blue Chequer Pied Posted December 2, 2010 Report Posted December 2, 2010 Stall perches for young birds. I would never have anything else. Great for keeping an eye on droppings and highlighting any problems. Good luck I hope it goes well. Paul.
chrisbonnie Posted December 3, 2010 Author Report Posted December 3, 2010 so, perches like this or boxes like this oh, and whats the darkening section on them boxes for?
Blue Chequer Pied Posted December 3, 2010 Report Posted December 3, 2010 Yes Chris, perches like the top ones. The bottom ones are motivation boxes so you can play around with the youngbirds when they mature or even let them pair up. I have both kinds in my y.b section. The ones at the bottom are 'pipo' boxes and are great once the yb's start looking to pair up.
