Guest Lisa Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 Hello there, Im hoping someone can help me please?I live in Swansea, South Wales and there is a small white and grey racing pigeon who keeps coming back to our house every night and sleeping on our window sills. He/she goes in the day but always comes back at night. Im really worried about him/her as it is bitterly cold and I wouldn't have the first clue how to catch him/her to read it's tag. This has been happening for about 2 weeks now.Thank you in advance.Lisa

Wiley Posted December 1, 2010 Report Posted December 1, 2010 Lisa, If its there at night grab yourself a sheet or something if your not keen in trying to grab it by hand, and turn off the lights on the window the bird sits, pigeons hardly move in the dark and is the best time to get hold of the bird. Like i said if your not keen in grabbing it place the sheet over it.CheersRyan

I will put some food out there in the morning as I don't want to scare it away at the mo. He/she is cuddled up for the night now. It is the second floor so nice and safe from predators....I hope! Do you think I should try and catch it or just leave it alone for now and see if it flies away? Thanks again.Lisa

When I tried to coax it the other day, it flew down onto the top of our caravan in the driveway, so maybe I will try and do that and get someone to throw a sheet over him there! Thank youLisa

Guest cowboy Posted January 7, 2011 Report Posted January 7, 2011 hi Lisa i am in swansea where are you give my ring if you have not got the bird or you have got it 01792611738
Guest geordiejen Posted January 8, 2011 Report Posted January 8, 2011 it might not be a racing pigeon it might be a show pigeon.most domestic pigeons dont mind being handled but you could coax it into your caravan or garage then read the ring number and put it on the board.lots of different clubs and stuff so someone will be able to identify which club or organisation it belongs to.
