neneland Posted November 28, 2010 Report Posted November 28, 2010 by letting the birds have the winter OFF! No need to breed this late in the year or so early in the new year... I understand those fanciers that want to get a head start to gain an advantage... but, no, not for me...all that expense on electric feed and so on... my birds were bred in May and competed in the NFC young bird National from carentan and also the final fed race from Guernsey, and I wasn't out of the top 10 in a strong club! All my birds have moulted well and look great, all 2010 youngsters flew the channel and I lost just 4 out of the 26 I started with.... Michael Saint
ovy1255 Posted November 28, 2010 Author Report Posted November 28, 2010 great result michael but as they say lots of roads to rome ,sent 10 to lillers as our last race[open]sh-t result but got 9 out of 10 and drew some pools.but as i say its us alsorans that make the backbone of most clubs-happy to get our birds home but ecstatic when we beat the club champ -not that often but keep trying.
