worms and coccidiosis I can do myself - canker I have trouble seeing under a microscope - and cultures can't do myself - found an avian vet this year who doesn't charge an arm and a leg - at Thirsk - so will go to him in about 2 weeks time -though I have sent him droppings through the post as well (AND he never charged me :P )

Picked up this website for Avian vets in Scotland. I know 3 of the names and can recommend them:-

(1) Alistair Lawrie is the one I use, his main surgery is Falkirk, with a second one in Cumbernauld. He has been published & also lectures at Glasgow Veterinary College. Ask for him by name.

(2) Michael Orsi I know and have consulted, he used to work with Lawrie Practice. Also knows his stuff.

(3) Tom Pennycott is very well known, he too has been published and I have put extracts on the forum from some of the stuff he sent me, including work on salmonella.
