Asked same question couple years back after viewing probably same dvd - flight affected in some strange way first few days after birds have been locked up all winter - just another mainland Europe affliction?

its the symptoms of magnesium deficiency not seen or heard of it for years affects mostly prisoner stock or birds locked in for prolonged periods.

try johnsons tonic in water for a few days.

Jimmy's right magnesium deficiency,looking through my old tips book (1987 season)It says loss of legs caused by lack of magnesium,1 tbl.spoon of epsom salts per pint of water,mix with honey so birds will drink it,if not give it by syringe.(wouldn't like to take that much epsom salts myself) :)
