sapper756 Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 What are members views and opinions on Pools, nominations and accumulators? Do they add a bit more interest to a race? Or, do they have a negative affect to your club? Some say that when money is involved, it takes away the enjoyment, and could cause arguementshttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/sad.gif Thank You http://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/wink.gif
Tony C Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 I think the fairest way is to do away with prize money altogether and if you do want to race for money have a gamble on the pools, noms etc. A small team flier would be on equal terms as the mob flier this way by racing the same amount of pigeons for the money.
Whats it called Cumbernauld Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 Many years ago we run a league based on football fixtures. Played a member each race, 3 points for a win and one to losser if they timed in but were beat These fixtures run over whole season.it was a fair compition and one that most agreed gave us the flyer who was the best in the club over that season. Good wee interest
Guest bakes Posted October 13, 2010 Report Posted October 13, 2010 what we do is we put a pound each into pot to guess the time we think of the first bird back will be in clock as well as your nom and pool bird plus this year our sec is friends with a very good flyer in belgium when she went over to see him he very nicely gave her one of his many trophys and the members flew for it was called the belgium challenge you had a fixed number of birds so everyone that flew for the trophy had the same amount of birds entered the birds raced the normal program as normal but there ring numbers was recorded each race so the flyer with the most points come end of season won the belgium challenge trophy.
