OLDYELLOW Posted April 15, 2009 Author Report Posted April 15, 2009 the pad is two inch from the front of the bobwires as would be too far back to clock anything
OLDYELLOW Posted April 15, 2009 Author Report Posted April 15, 2009 OLD YELLOW WHY DID YOU MENTION BIRD GOING BACK ONTO PAD IT ONLY REGISTERS ONCE if a bird flys back the pad reads the ring again but doesnt register it which could cost seconds or miss a bird perhaps
PIGEON_MAN Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Whats your thoughts on this,Any trapping system where the bird is recorded before the bird becomes confined within the the trap or loft contravenes rule 241 of the RPRA.
OLDYELLOW Posted April 15, 2009 Author Report Posted April 15, 2009 bird is within the trapping system so is confined
PIGEON_MAN Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 bird is within the trapping system so is confined The bird could get out again so its not confined.Looks like the RV Woodcraft trap is now no good.
tskyes Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 IF I FLY TO OPEN DOORS AND HAVE MY PAD ON THE WALL I WILL SWIPE THE BIRD OVER THE PAD THEN IT IS CLOCKED IN,I WILL THEN LET THE BIRD GO TO HIS BOX BUT HE CAN FLY OUT THE LOFT IF HE WISHES SO WHY AREN`T THEY ALOUD OUT OF THE LOFT WHEN THEY HAVE BEEN CLOCKED IN THROUGH THE TRAP BUT THEY ARE ALOUD OUT WHEN CLOCKED IN THROUGH OPEN DOORS ?
OLDYELLOW Posted April 15, 2009 Author Report Posted April 15, 2009 The bird could get out again so its not confined.Looks like the RV Woodcraft trap is now no good. my birds can get out of standard sputnik or can get out by accident when entering / exiting loft
PIGEON_MAN Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 Looks like we could have new problems now with the word CONFINED,for those that dont know the piece I quoted was from the RPRA spring meeting held the other week.
pjc Posted April 15, 2009 Report Posted April 15, 2009 THE BOBWIRES ARE AT THE BACK ON THE RV WOODCRAFT TRAP LIKE ON THE SPUTNIK AND HAS BEEN PASSED BY THE RPRA ! Thr RV Advert did say it doesn't comply with WHPU rules where as the west country one does as the bird has to go through the wires before being registered.

You could say that the bird was confined in your hand until you passed it over the pad.
PIGEON_MAN Posted April 16, 2009 Report Posted April 16, 2009 Special Notice in this weeks BHW.regarding above, rule 241 stays the same, the opinion given by the committee at the recent meeting is in obeyance pending a full review of the rules being carried out over the next 6 months,so no problems at the moment with the traps we have.
