THE FIFER Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 yes m8,are they eating the moss from the roof m8, if so its not good for them, could never find out why it attracts them, gives dirty wattles and sometimes wattery eyes, put some cider vinegar in your water,
thomasd Posted September 28, 2010 Author Report Posted September 28, 2010 havnt had them out for a few weeks ther was a few with watery eyes aswel
OLDYELLOW Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 It could be your treatment isnt strong enough , during the moult theres alot of dust from the feathers that could be the cause of the greecy wattles , and most over the counter treatments for canker are half the strength so hasent cleared the canker , moulting is a stresfull time for birds and canker can occur
thomasd Posted September 28, 2010 Author Report Posted September 28, 2010 the treatment i used was cankerex plus i have metronidazol normon and a 3-1 treatment b.s. tablets sould i use any of these
OLDYELLOW Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 the treatment i used was cankerex plus i have metronidazol normon and a 3-1 treatment b.s. tablets sould i use any of theseI can't give advice on treatments thats what vets are for , but should be using 10% Ronizole or a similar product ( this strength is perscription only ), testing is the best way to get the correct effective treatment also ventilation must also be correct to maintain good health

Guest strapper Posted September 28, 2010 Report Posted September 28, 2010 ronidazole 10% canker......or doxy t for resp..doxycycline x tylan i wouldnt expect either of these are the problem you describe.if its canker it will show as dried egg like in the mouth...if its that far gone....if canker flock treat as no doubt the infected bird has passed on canker organisms in the drinker.
bewted Posted September 29, 2010 Report Posted September 29, 2010 best thing for respirator is plenty of fresh air in the first place,,,,very good ventilation in a loft and usually dont get respiratory,,,,look at ventilation and airflow !!! just a suggestion to help !!!!
