just ask me Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 personally id go with what the rest of the club is going with makes it easier on people that has to work with these machines
jack Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Could you explain Jack why it is years ahead of the rest of the systems out there, :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ :-/ Only difference i can see between them is at the marking station were Unikon is just that little bit more user friendly. unikon have being around for over 20 years now
jack Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 Must say had alot of problems the last 3 weeks getting a signal with Unikon, the green and red buttons are flashing after a while but when you connect the rest up it says no signal. but your club system on the ground with noting pluged in and you will get it
LISTER Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 unikon without a doubt get what u pay for does what it says on the tin
LISTER Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 I use bricon and run tauris,,unikon,,bricon and benzing M1,, the 2 best ones are bricon and unikon,, tauris is huge and you have to press things before it will clock in.. all the others just plug in.. also the tauris only prints 1 copy at a time all the others can do the desired amount without going back into the clock.. tauris - huge and needs you to press buttons to clock and lots of buttons to press to basket also.. benzing M1 - very good but back up service is rubbish,, very expensive also.. unikon - very good,, but every year they need a few updates,, pocket clock will only work with unikon master,, bricon - very good,, also needs an update each year.. the prices for them all are massive,, these systems should be much cheaper.. If you are choosing between tauris and unikon ,, unikon will win everytime,, but bricon is just as good .. best of luck ant well said and this guy knows his stuff 8) 8)
david.j Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 each to there own 200 quid or 500 quid i know which i picked
van Roberts Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 hello a little off thread but with this ets systems do your birds trap quick. every video i have seen using the ets have been slow but i have never seen in the flesh so to speak just i use open door and i think its quicker the cock birds knock out the back of the loft any views. thanks
LISTER Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 guess if you in pigeons to save money you in wrong sport JMO no offense a totally reliable system is what i need
chichichi Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 each to there own 200 quid or 500 quid i know which i picked 200 to 300 quid will but you most of the systems at a basic level.. the problem is you can only use a very small pad with these systems,, its ok If you fly to a single loft with a small hole for an entry.. most people who fly to a sputnick will need a pad of 18" and the wider 28" for the 6 hole sputnick.. best of luck ant
jack Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 well it dose not make the pigeon any faster coming home lol ;D
van Roberts Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 ;D ;D yes you about right there
david.j Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 guess if you in pigeons to save money you in wrong sport JMO no offense a totally reliable system is what i need no offence taken but the uinikon i think is groossly overpriced a friend of mine just bought one chap 500 , a battery ,solar panel extra pad and a lead its the best part of 700 pounds got it up and running few weeks ago and guess what first pigeon home didnt register this happened 3 out of last 4 races
chichichi Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 ets will not get the birds home any quicker,, what it does is stop the young ones becoming trap shy and its great to see the birds have no fear when coming back.. listening for the bleep is also very nearve racking.. best of luck what ever system you get,, but learn the system inside out.. get your systems in the close season and use them over the winter.. play with them and learn to overcome any problems,, ant

david.j Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 this is a problem in the club on a friday night not the system its not because on the 3 occasions the bird was picked up and passed over pad again and it registered then
jack Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 could he get a round the pat or hop over it and is the pad setting under the landing bord right
david.j Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 no the bird has to walk directly over it through tunnels i reckon the pad is dodgy
jack Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 yes that could be it you can get a pad tester
No 1 Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 no the bird has to walk directly over it through tunnels i reckon the pad is dodgy So do I.
Guest WINGS 04 Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 i have had both ets unikon and tauras i like that you can go to the club and the unikon will still time in the birds that are a bit behind that is all i can see the difrens in them but i think you can bye somthing to go with the tauras to do this aswell
PIGEON_MAN Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 but your club system on the ground with noting pluged in and you will get it We have been using this now for 3 seasons so we do know how to use it but still get problems.
Roundo Posted September 22, 2009 Report Posted September 22, 2009 I used the TauRIS system for three years with no problems, but when I moved clubs at the beginning of the year I changed to Unikon, as this was the one they use. So having now used both systems I would have to say that Unikon would be my 1st choice. If it wasn't for the pigeon politics in my previous Club I'm sure it would have been Unikon from the start, but that's all in the past........well for me it is!!!!!! :X :P At the end of the day, as long as the system clocks the birds on race day.

When you connect the Tauris up at the loft no buttons are required to be pressed, pigeons will start to record within a few seconds of connection. And as of 2009 you get the option to press how many copies you want to print with the pre set number being set at 2. Cheers Gareth PS Will need to get a wheel barrow for my Tauris clock since its that huge, some fanciers like a clock that resembles a clock rather than a packet of ciggies. JMO ;) :P ;D ;D ;D ;D 8) 8)
