Guest JonesyBhoy Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 Ive just got slabs.. and they get scrapped and brushed out most days aswell.. The ybs's spend most of the day in there.. so i like to get in and inspect the droppings in there each day.. try and be on top of any situations which might arrise.. JMO.. but i hate seeing droppings lying getting all mouldy etc.. even if they are under grills..
bibendium Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 best idea i have seen is Grill floors with a 6ft plus drop underneath which get cleaned daily keeping the birds well away from the droppings
Guest frank dooman Posted January 16, 2010 Report Posted January 16, 2010 hard wood floor grils about a foot off the ground

jimmy white Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 Hi Jimmy - how are you mate - what is monobloc mate - is it th grey blocks used in building? D.D. im fine dave hope things well with you mono block is the brick sized blocks they use for driveways etc, no cement used so theres a slight drainage, course you can slope them so that any water runs out,, i wash with jeyes fluid, then hose out,, i feel it also helps the surrounding areas about the loft,,,, most folks keep their lofts clean , but forget about the outside areas,, really a haven for worms cocci etc,, ,,
Guest youngboy Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 im actually saving up for this then after racing also making a apex roof as alot more ventilation and for the floors easier to clean! and also look nice!!
gulkie Posted January 17, 2010 Report Posted January 17, 2010 in the 80 ies my partner and i had an aviary with slabs ,went out one morning and there was birds lying everywhere ,they looked dead but where paralised, they had been eating some moss/algie that was growing on the slabs all of them recovered but it was a scare at the time.mind u most of it was our fault not cleaned often enough :B :B :B.
