Some Days......

...you just wonder if it is all worth it. I thought weather would improve but has steadily got worse with the local forecast predicting this for next 3 days around here, so there goes training and even exercise again. Ten miles in shore its fine, but we are blessed with this damp drizzle and sea mist, and every where is so damp. Stock birds look like they have sat out all day in it, almost water logged and no doubt will affect their health.

One race in nearly 2 years and this year evaporating quick, is it really worth all the hassle?

why only one race in 2 years ? perhaps its the weather getting you down rather than the birds themselves...race or not at least the birds keep the 'grey matter ticking' in winter. hope you cheer up soon :)

Yes show racers looking better bet all the time! I already know it would be hard to be without the birds, been there got the t-shirt!

Why one race? Well last year i started back here with Yb, by the time i got everything sorted i only managed one race, albeit winning it. The weather hinded me too, as did a few health issues. I was concerned about the experience of the yearlings that were made up from them YB, i need not of worried as percy decided to take me from 14 to 3 in a matter of weeks. It wasnt really worth racing the remainder, as quite obvious their heads were wrong, anyone would of seen that, so although they did get a toss in a race (post percy) that was it for the year.

I had to delay the training of this year Ybs for various reasons, so while we were enjoying the good weather i never trained, now i am training, weather has been dreadful in spells, even bad for around here!! I think its called SODS law!
