I see from the photos of YBs on the site that people are pairing grizzle to grizzle - with these I bought in a mixture to avoid this - what are others thoughts?  Bought a cracking blue C RJ from premier at Blackpool - have they now got rid of all theirs?

yes, massarellas flooding of the market was the reason.....i bought a stunning cheq hen at blackpool but time will tell if she produces,,,

also a good point jakjak posted theres more 2 this family than the white grizzles and that in my opinions been to detriment of the family in the uk...id advise looking on his website..

well tam..go look at rolands results they speak  volumes as for doo peddlers well at least 1 has left the building.. ;D ;D....as for the big rep well thats all massarellas hype

They keep my 11 year old happy and content, And if it keeps him in pigeons, then that will be good enough for me. And i like them to , And plenty winning with them :-) If we all kept, and flew the same, it would be boring, As Mick says each to there own :-)

Vast majority of strains flown in this country originated in Belgium/Holland and were purchased because of results in their own countries, once they are successful in this country prices go one way until they go out of fashion!!!!

to win consistantly in scottish racing, and iv bought the best from

well as they say u pays ur money,also once bitten twice shy,iv done all right with

other birds iv selected in the past. i dont say there all bad as somone said

earleir there  is good and bad in all :)

the thing with roland is there gd club pigeons not fed , he wins big in his club , but where do all the blue lines in the rolands come from ? oh jos van der vaken !! would it not be better to get these ?

  sorry not quite right, im led to believe he uses birds from other top lofts and i might add if they make his own family stronger then well done him id say?...and id check his birdage at club/fed level..i think you might find he wins in strong competition..and you will find the results have been top draw for 20 years

well all the pigeons i had direct off roland in  late 1998 was full of van der vekens  and i have most of rolands resultes to hand and there not much better than mine lol also most of roands winners now are bred from louella pigeon world as part of the deal of louella having his best

i do believe he has off wonderboy and white cheeks. but id  not say most of his winners come from massarella birds...

So what you are saying is that if anyone wishes to fly as good as yourself and Roland get them from LPW as they have the breeders.

Testimony to this particular familys drop in popularity is week after week the pigeon periodicals have loads of them for sale. The fancy doesnt lie, If thine eye affends you pluck it out.They are an atractive pigeon but dont seem to be able to cut the british mustard. The fastest pigeons in the UK at the mon=ment are the Lambrechts but when you consider the different terrains in Wales Scotland and Ireland pus the long mountainous regions of the UK like the Pennine chain.The best universal pigeons to suite all areas are probably Van Loons.
