REDCHEQHEN Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 My navigation is great when I'm not driving - but not so hot when I am - however - I don't think we go to Malton via Pickering Evidently we do LOL !!
Bluedoo Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Post the birds number, and its owner, as you have already contacted him, perhaps the club's secretary can remind the fancier of his obligations.

Hope you birds have better navigation
Guest stb- Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 The chap is in Morpeth, northumberland. I am happy to feed it and water it in the meantime but I would like it to go because I have a couple of terriers who are anxious to make its acquaintance! As I said, I barely know one end of a pigeon from another but would say it is a gorgeous bird... are bird with injured legs destroyed...can anyone tell me please?most certainly not destroyed , one of my best birds came back from a 500ml race today with its leg injured and im over the moon to have it back , its sister had 2 very badly brocken legs all twisted and out of shape and she went on to win well and win sect in national for me
Guest homestead Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 This year I have lost 18 birds all with tel number rings on and only received 4 calls. Its fanciers like this who give genuine fanciers a bad name when a none fancier reports a bird and gets this responce. If the man in question cant be bothered he needs reporting to the RPRA. Please dont you pay for his bird to get home for him to put it in the bin, if he pays £35-00 to a courier he might have second thoughts.. Regards Les
JohnQuinn Posted July 19, 2010 Report Posted July 19, 2010 Far be it for me to split hairs, but is a fancier no obligated to MAKE CONTACT with the finder within 3 days or so? If so is he not within his rights to discourage the finder from feeding it, in the hope it will make its own way home. Now i only beg the question, the guy is Morally out of order if nothing else!

Regards Les If he's in Morpeth Les it's almost certain to be NEHU rung - but I agree with you, under no circumstances should the finder be paying for a courier

Its not the money, I get that it could be massively expensive (goes with the territory though, as does responsibility for animals generally!). And I am fortunate to be able to find £40 more easily than most pensioners. I just wanted to give it a fair chance...and I am so pleased to read these stories that the leg may not be a problem. Thank you so much for your offer. I will try Old Yellow first as I could deliver it tonight if he is around, and it needs someone better able than me to give it some practical TLC before heading off (hopefully). If I cannot make contact then if you leave me a number I will call you tomorrow.
