hi i have been asked by a friend grahame punter of isleworth if there is anyone on here needs any birds free of charge,if you remember he was the one who had lived in his parents council house since birth over 50 years ago,his father passed away recently and after a hard battle with the local council he has to move to a one bedroom property,he is currently in a 3 bedroom house the house has already been passed down once from his grandmother to his parents,he has about 40 birds that needs to be rehomed asap these are various ages and are mainly gabby vandenbelle x with ian benstead distance birds, the lame ones have been culled, i will try to get more details from him and maybe pictures but time is tight grahame wishes for me and my brother to deal with the birds he is too upset about getting rid of birds he has had them all his life, him and his dad raced well a few years back liking the distance more than sprint but due to illness of his dad lost a bit of intrest, they won out of turn ,these birds have not got pedigrees but may suit a new starter to learn the game ,if anyone is intrested please pm me and we will do how best to pick the birds for you ,,carriage to be paid by intrested person regards vinnie

ps fifer has given permission to post this.

A good offer for any novice to learn the basis of homing / racing and losing pigeons. has to be the most cost effective way for any one. And if there is any Ian Benstead blood in these birds, then they will do the distance. No two ways about that. He is still reverde and high regarded for many a good distance man has his birds to thank as the Racing mags confirm every so often.

Indeed just a few months back there was a good article on him and his birds. Likewise a couple of 'Names' that used his birds as foundations.

Good luck to all and any that try these birds.

hi just to let members know when i stated the lame birds were culled i meant some were disposed of because he felt they were not good enough to pass on to fanciers only what he felt were the best retained not because they were ill sorry for any misunderstanding i should have worded it diffrently he had raced north and south over the years many thanks vinnie

Well done Vinnie, you've done the man and yourself proud. I hope he can get back into the pigeons in future, even as a partner to someone, sounds to me he would be an asset to any loft. Best of luck to him in the meantime ;) ;)
