Guest Jayne Posted July 18, 2010 Report Posted July 18, 2010 Hi, this is Pete's wife...I looked after it. We are YO13 0LN, at a place called School Farm, Crosscliffe, about twelve miles inland from Scarborough It was 2009, yellow ring. It stayed with us overnight. Had loads to drink and plenty to eat. This morning it seemed very perky. (It cooed at me all the time and even sat on my shoulder at one point) I liberated it this morning at 11.00 and it walked about for a few mins, flew up onto our roof and left about 5 mins later. very interested to know from where it was liberated and to where it was going and of course if it gets home! I only just got your message so I am sorry I did not keep it. But it looked fit and well. We have another lost bird in today...injured leg, possibly injured wing, though it may be just that is is dropping it to balance better as I have seen it fly and it looks ok (I know absolutely nothing about pigeons you understand). A rstunningly beautiful bird, liberated in France yesterday. I have contacted the owner who is in Morpeth who does not want to repatriate it and told me to release it with other birds. It can rest overnight and I will seek further advice about it.
