hi there, i let my birds out this morning and 2 have come back smashed. they are not critical but the flesh is peeled to the keel. just after any ideas on treatment. the reason i ask is, this is my first year racing and still a lot to learn.

nip to chemist get some iodine to cleans the wound and some sudocreme healing cream or healing powder :)

I don't like using creams on pigeons,dampen some cotton with witch hazel and dab it on the damaged parts, they'll heal ok on their own.JMO :rolleyes:

id agree with you but with it been on underside could get infected so the cream will form a barrier from infection which is the biggest risk :)

I've just been scratching my head trying to remember a product we used a lot of years ago when my late uncle raced greyhounds,after taking the splinters out of my fingers i remembered it's name. IGLODINE.This in my opinion was one of the best products on the market at that time great for use on kids as it didn't sting and had no smell,healed and hardly left a scar( cuts and bruises).I don't know if it's still on the market but if it is, it's one no fancier should be without.

that rings a bell lindsay that name we use to use botanica herbal cream when we use to flap over local tracks a good few years ago dont no if you can still get the stuff but ideal for any cuts bumps muscel pulls
