OLDYELLOW Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 sorry to hear your calling it a day , there are far more genuine fanciers than these scum bags as you put it, dont let them put you out of a hobby you like
kirky cowboy Posted June 29, 2010 Report Posted June 29, 2010 dont let the sh*t win m8 stick with it...
sharkfin Posted June 30, 2010 Author Report Posted June 30, 2010 Scumbags are not the reason for calling it a day you get them in every walk of life I had birds return years ago without rings I restarted last year after 5yrs away ,the reason I decided to start back was after joining this site I got a buzz about the racing again bought a few birds off the site for stock ,bought in 12ybs after 10 tosses up to 18ml had one left.I bred 16ybs off the 4 stock pair I bought but they were May bred so decided to train and keep them for next year up to 5ml so they know what a basket is.This year started training 4wks before the first race up to 18ml I had 7 yearlings left after two race,s Ive two birds that returned the next day minus their rings. As for the stock doo,s I broke them last year Ive 4 left hawks had the other 4.Ive bred 18ybs this year as I dont have a big set -up after 2 tosses at 5ml Ive 15 the racing is only 4wks away whats left will race but thats it for me if there,s any left I'LL give them away.Ive spent a small fortune to me anyway starting up built a new loft, baskets, price of birds and the price of petrol up and down the road, at the end of the day I just wanted to watch my doo,s coming home couldint careless if they were last and hopefully a few years down the line get one or two over the water. As for my post on the Swap Section(1pr Busschaerts for Two pr Whites)due to the lack of responce Ive decided to let the pair that I bought off Navigator finish their days off here.As for the whites was'int looking for anything special my daughter is getting married next year thought I would breed a few to release at the wedding but I will just buy a couple of pair for that purpose.
OLDYELLOW Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 its been a hard season for most lofts if everyone told you what they started with and whats in there lofts now it be a similar picture , a bit late for ybs now but if you decide to stick to it im sure a few on site will help you kep in the sport , if you do i will be more than happy to bred you at least a pair free to race next year ,you would need to pay for the carrage only
Roland Posted June 30, 2010 Report Posted June 30, 2010 Always told, 'Egg or Young in May will fly all the way'. Yes IT is proven every year. Late June bred birds flew 469 Miles end of September for me.
sharkfin Posted July 1, 2010 Author Report Posted July 1, 2010 Thanks for the pm's birds are now taken
