don't be to smug ...you have to verify within an hour and the race reopens at 4:30...not 4:45 as i previously thought ...so you can lie until 5:15 ish but its barely worth me going to bed ....what we'll probably both then find out is that the nrcc website is broken and there's tons of birds timed in

They have to phone their sec. within an hour of timing, and I fairly sure need to give ring no. of arrival. Just going by MNFC prog that was on tv a few years back.

being as its my first i've no past experience...but i think you're right as the 'bush telegraph would have flagged something by now. my own 'inexperienced ' hunch is that the birds are on the other side of the channel...and it could well be a tough one

To be fair this is probably the first head wind that them birds have had all year as its been north and north east here all year up untill this weekend , nose bleeder is what happens

They probably reckon under the 4 minutes/mile running rule there is a phonebox within 15 miles of your loft. Or 30 miles if you've got a bike.
