I always notice the wild birds bunch up where the pigeons split up. is this a nature thing with the wild birds knowing they are safer in a bunch, ;)

It's taken me years but I think it is now possible to 'read' the skies around here, the wild bird behaviour is quite predictable when there is a BoP about. Starlings are usually first into the air, followed by the ferals, and they clear the area. If there are racing pigeons in the sky, they'll go higher, or clear the area.

Within a minute or two of that happening, sparrowhawk or a buzzard will come into view, usually with a crow or two above it, harrying it, and shepherding it right accross the area. I've seen the odd seagull join in this harrying lately.
