eric Posted October 21, 2006 Report Posted October 21, 2006 Hi Craig, I am writing on behalf of a friend who keeps a few mookees, and he is trying to locate a pair of lavenders or isabellas, I probably have that wrong and they may be the same thing! I know nothing about pigeons!,but it would be a great help if you could help me locate some. Cheers. Ted p.s. my friends name is eric, and I have signed him up for this site.
Guest CS Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Eric, I'll send my friend an email for you...
eric Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 Hi Craig. Many thanks for your help. I look forward to hearing from you in the future. Feel sure there is plenty to talk about re. mookees. Eric.
Guest CS Posted October 22, 2006 Report Posted October 22, 2006 E-mail from Phil, "There is a guy called Mike Lewis from Faringdon near Oxford with Mookies but I'm not sure what colours he has but did show some at Thame show in September. The other place to try may be the National youngbird show at Nottingham on the 11th November where I am sure you may be able to find other breeders. Phil"
Guest CS Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 E-mail from Phil, "Hi Craig I need to dig out a catalogue to find mikes address but you could try Andy Lowe on 0115 8460527, he will know somebody I am sure. Regards Phil" Hope this helps,
eric Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 hi craig, thanks for your help but I feel a bit mixed up! I assumed the photos you sent were your own birds. Do you keep them and if so are you likely to have any to spare? Your friend Phil spoke as if neither you nor him had any. Is that so? Sorry if I have got it wrong but I am pretty old {80] I rang andy lowe and he gave me denis isons no. in scotland as a possible source. I will let you know when I get hold of him. You mention your deafness. Is it total? Iam very hard of hearing and find it very difficult and tiring. I have had 2 strokes--and hearing aid is only very slightly helpful. Eric.
Guest CS Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Send me a private message for your e-mail address,,,I'll send you an email... The mookees are my friend from Germany, Mick Bassett
eric Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 craig, hi. my email address is ricson1@btinternet.com I sent an email to mick bassett some time ago and he answered quickly and helpfully. There is a chance that a friend of mine might bring me two lavenders back from him at a show. I have emailed him again to see if he would help but have not yet had a reply. I have heard now that there is a gap in his emails now because of some dispute with the co. So I am hoping that we can still arrange something--perhaps by phone. I have also had a very pleasant phone talk with dennis ison. He can probably let me have a pair of browns eventually but has been flooded with orders. He is going to keep in touch. All very interesting--and thank you to yourself and friend for your help and interest. Eric.
Guest CS Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 E-mail from Ray "Hi Craig, I believe Mick only keeps black mookies. I did have some lavender mookies a couple of years ago, but parted with them to a friend in the north. If you have no luck finding any, let me know and I will make enquiries with my friend to see if he still has any. Ray Parkes" I will get in touch with you, Eric... cheers
eric Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 High Craig and Ray, many thanks. Stil trying to get lavenders or isabels. Would be grateful if Ray could contact his mookee friend "in the north". Eric.
