blue lad Posted June 1, 2010 Report Posted June 1, 2010 Thick mist on and off in between clear spells out here today still pigeons flying around in the mist .This poor soul was being chased over the sea by b--dy gulls. He landed in water twice only to get back out again some not so fortunate fell to them. He surely deserves another chance at life what a waste of birds this last sunday race was. Iam very saddend to see all this pigeons fly around in the fog trying to find away home, first it was the wind now fog& gulls prevents them making land.some must have been missed by owners. if you could see what i have seen these last few days. NOTHING THAT IS RAISED ON DRY LAND AND DEPENDS ON MAN TO FEED IT. DOZ NOT DESERVE TO PERISH! OUT IN THIS HOSTILE INVIROMENT.

blue lad Posted June 3, 2010 Author Report Posted June 3, 2010 Yes iam very saddened by it all .have spoken to radio ops on some of rigs within 30mls of us all still have a few pigeons aboard. With now way of getting them off .as i said in a past post . I have been in contact with the OIM on the rig . who is going to contact other OIM,s to put pressure on heli companys to take birds back during racing season .I leave rig today and this lucky lad is coming in with me. Fed him on nuts and husked sunflower seeds and bit barley he should make it home where ever he lives. I hope his owner is kind to him as i have been after a week away. he wont know what he has gone though to get home.
