Does anyone know the origins of the poem i know as "the pigeon fancier"

The boy sat on the garden seat

in most inclement weather.

He'd been sitting there for hours and hours

but hadn't seen a feather

Then a dot appeared in the sky

it came down like a rocket.

His legs, they turned to jelly

as he ran in to clock it.

I knew i'd get him in this race

for i sent him at his peak.

Oh joy Oh bliss Oh blooming heck

its one back from last week!!

I've known this since around 1976 but for the life of me i don't remember the author, any takers.

Prize of a latebred off a doo that took a week out of 104mls this year :lol:
