jupiter_19630 Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 Hi, I have a silver case mechanical STB and a red quarz STB. Am I right in thinking that both these clocks can now be used with out thimbles?
TOMMY R Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 depends what organisation youre in the nehu rule is you need to use thimbles in any clock designed for thimbles unless it has been modified with flappers/ click inserts etc

Tony C Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 The red one is ok to use without thimbles. The silver square case (has a 6 digit serial number) is also ok. I think you can use the round case (5 digit serial number) but double check with your regional secretary. I word of warning rubbers have been known to ride round on the inner carriage pulling them out of the box chambers and invalidating the pigeon.

For the sake of a few seconds might be safer to stick with the thimbles. Cheers
