Tony C Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 Do you think pigeons being liberated in temperatures of 6C and below contribute a lot towards smashes?
just ask me Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 i dont think it helps tony but i think the bigger problem is the old falcons they are released they maybe get two mins in the sky then a few falcons smash into the middle of them sending them running in the wrong direction then the conditions don't help as the bird is trying to navigate while distressed i often wonder when there a batch of birds maybe 2000 or 3000 birds and there heading in the wrong direction due to being frightened by a falcon how far do they go before they decide to turn around
Guest pigeon82 Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 i dunno what causes smashes but workthis oneout a fellowin scotland racing fromyorkshire on saturday and i get his bird in on sunday morning in northern ireland decent bloke thohes getting the bird back but he says there was no wind on saturday at race point bird flewover 300miles towear i am lolexplain that on a beautifulday
jimmy white Posted May 25, 2010 Report Posted May 25, 2010 dont think it would contribute to a lot of smashes, but if continually released below this temp, would in my opinion, shorten the birds season
