schouwman71 Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 check the choc cock out mate, looks like he has a sore eye,Hes a cracker
sapper756 Posted November 22, 2006 Report Posted November 22, 2006 NICE RACERS, MIGHT JUST BE THE FLASH OF THE CAMERA THAT HAS AFFECTED THE CHOC COCK,S EYE
westy Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 the look like racer crosses but look brill.
Jim McArthur Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 I'm caring for an injured feral bird whose coloration is very similar to the bird in the fourth photo from the top. Could you tell me something about the bird in this photo (and maybe mine, by extension) from his appearance? Gender, breed, etc? Thanks! I know nothing about pigeons: except what I've learned in the past 3 days since I found this bird! Jim McArthur
THE FIFER Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 look out for the feral bird i wouldn't let it near ur birds they can carry germs, more so if its not well, ure other birds are racing pigeons and looking quite good, where did u get them.
Jim McArthur Posted November 26, 2006 Report Posted November 26, 2006 Fifer, I don't have any other birds. My Dad used to keep racing pigeons when he was a boy in upstate Pennsylvania, so I reckon it's always been at the back of my mind. I'm trying to see what I can do for the injured feral. I think this might be the start of a hobby to come! Jim
wince24 Posted November 28, 2006 Author Report Posted November 28, 2006 the fourth bird in the photo is a black check with white flights, and its a hen, i got one yb from her, she is an ordinary racer...
barlbylofts Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 the chocks are def crossed with somthing but they racers ok
Guest Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 I started with ferrals so I know "that look" ie last photo.Nothing wrong with ferrals, they are tougher, quicker, more inteligent,in my experience healthier on the whole.I know a national flier who on the quiet has been experimenting with ferrals because we have done with pedigree pigeons what we have also done with pedigree dogs ie destroyed the health, inteligence, motivation, toughness etc.
THE FIFER Posted April 5, 2007 Report Posted April 5, 2007 as a youngster we used to keep the streeters, there are some nice looking birds among them.
rockinrick Posted April 27, 2007 Report Posted April 27, 2007 i would agree i think the chocs are cross bred with some thing maybe show bird but nice looking birds tho
