MNFC RACES 2006

nfc went north in para year same as this year can,t go out of the country.fmd we were allowed to race from different countries.( as it stands at the moment )

i think san sebastian was open in 2001, which meant fanciers could get a good distance race but san sebastian is shut this year and so north is the only option in the west country unless you like 160 mile racing.

same here jons our club more than likly is going for a north road section to get the distance plus south for sprint and young bird racing

I cant beleve what i am reading on here turn north because we only fly 140 plus mls what a load of bull you have got to be happy that we may be racing but no.????????

slatey, what are you going on about, north is a good idea, good pigeons will turn and if the big organisations don't turn there will be a few empty transporters. Its alright being greatful for just flying any distance but 140 miles every week, people will just stop flying because here in somerset we have the best flyers in the country (national and classic) and they need proper races for their PROPER pigeons.

I agree good pigeons will turn - but you cant expect them to be on the results sheet against birds that are already on the North - then if you try to turn them back the following year, you cant expect them to be on the results sheet then either.

we fly south east, you put south pigeons on the south east and see the difference!! no coridor flying from the south east.

When the par vacination started a fed in Dudley turned north n our club joined first old bird race 350 birds we thought fantastic by the last 3 races the club didnt send as the birds were gone thats turning old birds . If your turning start with young

WE ALWAYS USED TO FLY ON THE SOUTH EAST ROUTE ON THE LAND THEN SOUTH ON THE CHANNEL. THEN A FEW YEARS AGO IT WAS VOTED THAT WE WENT SOUTH EAST ON THE CHANNEL. SWAPING BIRDS FROM THE SOUTH EAST TO THE SOUTH ROUTE WASNT A PROBLEM AT ALL, BUT WHEN FANCIERS PUT THEIR SOUTH ROAD CHANNEL PIGEONS OVER THE WATER ONTO THE SOUTH EAST ROUTE THE FIRST YEAR THEY WENT DOWN LIKE ANYTHING, LOOSING GOOD PIGEONS ON GOOD DAYS. IT HAS TAKEN A FEW YEARS NOW FOR FANCIERS TO GET A TEAM OF SOUTH EAST PIGEONS TOGETHER, BUT NOW THERE SEEMS TO BE NO PROBLEM. ME PERSONALLY DIDNT SEND ANY SOUTH ROAD CHANNEL BIRDS ON THE SOUTH EAST AND USED ONLY BIRDS THAT HAD BEEN ON THE LAND SOUTH EAST AND YEARLINGS.

I KNOW TOP CLASS FANCIERS WHO HAVE HAD BIRDS FROM PEOPLE WHO FLY A VERY GOOD PIGEON ON THE SOUTH, BREEDING THE TOP FANCIER FORM THE SOUTH EAST ROUTE PIGEONS, AND AT THE END OF THE YOUNG BIRD RACING NOT ONE OF THESE BIRDS WHERE STILL IN THE LOFT. THE PIGEONS THAT WE KEEP MUST HAVE BRAINS THEY MUST BE BRED FOR THE JOB.

ON YOUNG BIRD RACING IF WE LIB AFTER 10AM WE ARE ASKING FOR TROUBLE CLASSHING ETC AS OURS CROSS ALL THE NORTH ROAD AND SOUTH ROAD PIGEONS.

as mike said in his artical his birds are mainly sprint/middle distance why should he send them to thurso,the only way round the mnfc could call its self a so called national is to include  in its programme one distance race,thats why  it has middle distance races to provide its members with the short races

I agree in part with you pigeon man but n these always one but, we had a member last week at our club proposing we turn north as he wants his distance and cant be bothered with blow homes, so as secretay i checked back n the member sent on average 1-3 birds to the channel races 8 times only 1 for the last 3 years. It ok goin for the distance but it need to be supported.

Each organisation has to do what is best for the membership & its Club.  Turning North is indeed utter luinacy & I can guarantee 100% that the MCC won't even consider it

I don't really want to put my big nose in a UK discussion, but I know of several clubs and combines in the US who change the direction every year, one year its North one Year its west, the next South then lastly east.  They've been doing it for years and don't seem to have bad losses.

Hey Pigeon Man  - whatever your real name is.  I send sprint because I enjoy sprint. Our birds can fly the distance too though & our record supports the fact too.  We've never failed to time in with the MNFC from Beregerac 557 miles every time we've entered.   I'll race from anywhere, but I have RESPECT for my birds. I like to sprint so I prepare em to sprint.   This isn't about me, our birds or anything.  You HAVE to look at the Club

Classic example.  LSECC went North in 2001 & it was a disaster.   Very irresponsible in my opinion

To solve this why doesn't the MNFC send Ballot forms out to the members and let them decide afterall it's their club and their birds.

Would you be happy to be levied to x amount of £ to satisfy your desire for distance racing?  Every Club needs to balance the books. We all WANT to fly the channel - but we CAN'T.  We'd like Guernsey - but we CAN'T.  North road would not be supported "as a club" by "the membership in general".   It is the RESPONSIBILITY of guys like me - associated with the Clubs to act responsibly.  The MNFC have called it correctly - there's no real alternative.

I've nowt against going North - but lets doit as babies as a long term committment
