Guest Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 is this a strain of Middle or Long Distance - any good ?
Marky5 Posted April 5, 2006 Report Posted April 5, 2006 Yeah very good long distance from 450 miles to 600 miles , alot of good lofts in Holland have these pigeons
swilcox Posted April 6, 2006 Report Posted April 6, 2006 Hello They are excellent hard day racing pigeons and tend to be better the farther they fly! With most long distance pigeons they dont mature until they are 2-3 years old so they need to be treated with a steady hand. In Holland they are used as a cross with Aarden, Hagens, Van De Wegen etc with great success and for years wanroy pigeons have performed well in the Nationals and overnight races. The main line is the "spin" and even though Van Wanroy is long gone people like Lynders and Hendricks have great collonies of pigeons realating back to the originals. They tend to be very dark pigeons, the one that i had from Jan Lynders are almost Black. Pictured below is our De Wim who is typical of the family. Regards Stuart Wilcox
