Brookland is a little north of Folkestone, how far are you from Folkestone (do us a velocity check please   :K) I'm clocking in (only for the third time ever...!) Guess I have my uses now and again  ::)

There is a Brookland and a Brooklands, we were told it was about 2 miles from Folkestone, Brooklands is about 68 miles from you, Brookland about 132 by road the latter is the nearest to Folkestone, but at that speed looking the most unlikely....... thanks for replying Ted - much appreciated cheers.  :K)

will keep you informed

Ted, that could have been the WDA ( West Durham Amalgamation) I suppose which was liberated at the same time this morning from Maidstone ( tho' a bit to the west....? )

Difference would be 30,000 pigeons from one and 3000 or so for the other

What time do you think they will be arriving, I fly in teesside and cant get out of work till 12, but they will doing fast times dont you think??

It is supposed to be 250 odd miles to my loft, I think, but was never given a distance so cant work out an accurate time.

Haven't got a distance either, Folkestone was 260 miles to me, so similar, can't guess an accurate time, so basing on 60mph 4 hours 20 mins, 10 mph west or sw winds all way up, I'm on my lonesome and having to sort the hens out for this widowhood lark, what a carry on - still, the only two times I have clocked before, we scored.... ( both much shorter distances tho' ) WDA up at 7.00 also, so if you know anyone from there, ask them to phone u, shorter distance by 30 miles, will give you half an hour, Newton Aycliffe in WDA, know anyone from there, or Darlington ?

Sorry Ted, by the time I wrote my post you'd posted, must improve my typing skills, you were a help Ted, cos if it was WDA, they doing 50mph or so, that has helped, rather be ready for them far too early than too late eh?

Looks like I may have to go to the doctors @ 1130 then LOL

Terrible race for me, only 1 back from 9, clocked at 13.27 -I saw very few going overhead, maybe a hundred or so, don't know whether they were more inland or more out to sea (I live about 400 yards from the North Sea) looking on the bright side, atleast I don't have to bother taking the clock to the club..... forgot to add - about half an hour behind club winner.... but more bothered about missing birds

Early indications look like being a disaster  >:( !!   Got 1 out of 10 at 1.25 and they were due in at 12.30.

Hi, i sent 7 birds and my 1st was back at 1.27pm it was very late i thought and i only clocked it to say id clocked as me and mum are novices and need all the experiance we can get lol  ;) any way im very glad i did as it won the club and 2nd and 3rd placed birds were clocked in a full 30mins later by Mr cockroft.son +G.son (i race with shotton palms). Up to now i have 4 out of 7 back. However the other club in the village  (shotton WHS) had its winner timed in by MR cockroft, son +G.son at 1.08pm.

;D so it was a queer race for the shotton fed,  but im not complaining its only me and mums 1st season after taking over my late fathers birds, so just to be placed is an honour  :)
