Guest TAMMY_1 Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 HOW DO THE BIRDS KNOW IF THEY ARE GOING NORTH OR SOUTH ?????????
DRIES Posted May 23, 2006 Author Report Posted May 23, 2006 Is that definate dries I heard they were thinking about it and were having a meeting think there will be few Solent members pleased about that it's a fact not rumour solent fed racing yelverton this saturday rose north road is gone
Guest WINGS 04 Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 is the north road to hard for the pigeon down on the south coast as most of you are are finding out as tammy 1 says who tells the bird where he is
Pompey Mick Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 Well Tammy after having had to brief the birds about going from South to North I now have to tear all that up and explain that now they will be racing from the west. The uncertainity about this years racing is driving me mad. It is a good job that my pigeons don't know what a 'line of flight' is otherwise I would be in trouble, but having raced them from the four points of the compass in recent years it doesn't seem to upset them too much and I'm sure they will take it in their stride, unlike their owner.
Guest speckled Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 Agree with ya pompey mick raced from all points of the compass, aswell ive won feds from all 4 points & the classic aswell from the east,& the birds dont seem to be bothered, makes a better pigeon out of them i think.Speck,

peterpau Posted May 24, 2006 Report Posted May 24, 2006 I think only good distance birds can be turned. Sprinters and lesser birds, drop like flies. When I park my truck in the morning I don' have to tell 'em which way is home.
