JAS Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 Thanks Andy hope we get some as it is mostly cocks that are to come.
Diamond dave Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 David, your birds sound experienced pigeons and I am sure that you know that they will home when the weather breaks but in my experience you cannot expect your old birds to RACE home if you turn them round.- particularly if you are on widowhood. I appreciate that you are all on level terms down there on the South coast but I think you are expecting too much from your birds to expect them to perform to that degree. Just my thoughts mate - lets hope we get the channel confirmed soon.
Guest Posted May 21, 2006 Report Posted May 21, 2006 North West Fed lib at 6.30am from Ripon 169mls. first birds doing 1323vel still 12 short. the birds were coming great then just stopped not had one in the last 3hr.We were 1st club 414 birds doing 1323.186 T Blair 2nd doing 1323.175 P McGowan 3rd doing1321. Guest Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Bruno we are still 10 missing tonight.(monday 6pm) Close of play tonight, Monday, still 6 out of 13 missing. Only one bird home today, a yearling cock, smashed up; left wing badly bruised and a hole in his side [half inch diameter, looks like a tree branch to me] and very badly swollen. How he got home beats me but he's obviously stopped for the rest of this year anyway. Won't need a basket for the race candidates on Friday, a shoe box will do fine. ;D
Guest Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 We're still 2 out, nothing back since about 4 pm Saturday
Guest Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 Wakened to an unusual sight this morning - sunshine. Fancied I saw around a dozen racers working [back] out of the west, heading east, around 06:30. Got another yearling cock about 10 minutes later, absolutely done in, walking skeleton case... 5 still missing close of play tonight.
