Look to the ones you have got back pigeonpete, 20 YB's a nice manageable team who have showed a lot of mettle, pigeons that you will have confidence in, and a lot easier to basket up.

36 out of 60  back

so things looking a little better now.

I do belive that the one's that find there own way home have lernt a

lot and as you say will be harder to loose,

also i would rather not have bird's come home in a box, as they have more oftern than not given up trying to get home,

but there are some that through no fault of there own have not made it home.

Hope some more come through for you.

This week hasnt really been the weather for starting ybs around me; didnt like it at all; mist until 10am then back in again at 6pm; if you look also the visibility with the easterly wind is shocking, then the heat :-s

Something I always do when starting my ybs out now (after a shocking few tosses last year) is come on the net and check the K index before taking them. http://www.sec.noaa.gov/rt_plots/kp_3d.html

First read it in an article by Bilco; seems to have keyed in with a fair number of my bad tosses over the last few years. The article: http://www.pigeonbasics.com/articles/article2.html

The same thing is happening here in the States, a mate of ours took about 60 young birds 2 miles this morning, and didn't see a feather for hours, think he has about half of them back tonight

hey mate i know the feeling been there many times myself and many a time wanted to jack it all in.even this year i had 55 ybs at the start i now left with 18 ready to race.i know 18 a lot to your one but i still gutterd and feel the same way.i did one year have 80 ybs by the time i trained them i had 0.so i know what you feeling mate.if it wasnt for my wife who kept telling me to keep going with them i would have jacked in i think but im glade now that she kept pushing me to go on i would miss the birds if they went.also listen to what the guys say in here they are a good bunch and give some good advise.over the years i been into this i have had some real heart break with the birds but some real rewarding times to.so mate keep ya chin up i know its hard when you feel let down by the birds but it will all come together and will be ok but always remember in this game you never know whats going to happen even to the best in the game thats what keeps us in this the excitement of never knowing whats comeing next.

hey i expect to see you on the result list next year.
