Guest shadow Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 It was mentioned in the homing world at one time as a treatment for young bird sickness
mO Posted July 21, 2006 Report Posted July 21, 2006 elderberry plus "ground cinnamon" is a good preventative of y/bird sickness. cheap too. Pick ya own elderrberry's, just the berrys, rest is poision. Put in a large container. Boil some water and scold the berries. Mash them all to bits. Strain with a flour/ strainer?? botlle just the juice. Add ground cinnamon to the bottle and put the lot in a fridge to keep fresh. One more quick tip. you could make elderrberry ice cubes and just pop in into drinkers daily as you replace the water. If nothing else I imagine its a good source of free Vitamin C for the birds. I use it from when I first wean the y/birds. "none dead" yet lol. Hope the above helps. mO.
