Already I have one baby in my loft rubbered up and not stamped.

On this forum most of us have stressed the need for a form of I.D for our pigeons but there is still an awful lot out there ignoring the RPRA rule.

I am going to phone the RPRA to get this baby back home.

There's an awful lot of people out there wanting their pigeons back and do things by the book but never hear about them.

I use the plastic telephone No rings and they have helped me get back three birds from Non fanciers who would not have bothered if they had been wing stamped.

The rings are so easy to spot and this fact helped save these pigeons who were flown out and near the end ( one was my last years 1st Club,4th Fed Bergerac)

The public don't know about wing stamps and do not know how to fan a wing and find that a telephone no on a leg ring so much easier.

Where is the best place to buy the plastic rings with a telephone number printed on, i have seen the plain coloured plastic ones.

We wing stamp, but i was checking some young birds last night and it (the stamp) has faded a lot, and they were only stamped 3 weeks ago.

I have found the plastic rings a bonus this year as like Mick said the public can spot your phone number on the ring, but it seems the same as ever some want their birds back and come and collect them a.s.a.p. and you get the idle one's who expect YOU to get them back to them or get someone to toss the bird where they live.

It's the same every year it is down to the marking teams at the clubs to check every pigeon going to the ringer and not putting them in the ringer if unstamped. We have a club stamp which can be used if the owner has not marked them but that puts more work onto the secretary.

We have the same set up Shadow but it's down to the individual to get it done whether it be a personal ID or a club ID.  Failing them doing that, the club is then held responsible.  There are too many pigeons being found without a contact No.  I think a rule should be brought in that if a pigeon is reported through the RPRA through a lack of ID, the RPRA should inform the club secretary and suspend the whole club for the following weeks race.  I wonder how many would be sent without ID then.!!

IT'S UP TO THE MARKERS TO MAKE SURE THIS RULE IS KEPT, BUT AS USUAL IF THEY DO NOT LIKE THE RULE IT;S NOT PUT IN FORCE SO ANY BIRD BEING REPORTED TO RPRA OR SHU NOT WING STAMPED THEN THEY SHOULD DEAL WITH IT. THERE IS NO GOOD MAKING RULES IF THEY ARE NOT FOLLOWED THROUGH, WHICH HAPPENS A LOT THESE DAYS
