johnny11 Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Does anyone know Mr R Haigh whose pigeon came third in the overall race? John
johnny11 Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 What would attract a person to buy a bird from this race, position it came in the hotspots and race or its breed. It seems all the Vandebeeles are going for high prices regardless of its position. Also apart from Mikes who has told us what it is bred off no one knows the parentage? John
ribble Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 only had a quick butchers but lot 43 for me,wouldn't care what breeding it was.
johnny11 Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Ribble Just by the picture? As I do not know the breeder?
ribble Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 just by the performances.i don't know the breed or the breeder but he has the best set up i've seen look at this link http://www.worldofpigeons.com/ anyone know frank quinlon, how does he race?
Jeremy Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Franks bird is Sire & Dam from Luc Van Hoecke, Hoogstraat 3. 8730 Oedelem. Nr Brugge and at the time the pair where in the racing team. Frank at the moment is setting up a racing team in Belguim. He also has a success over here as well..
tompadel Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Does it not cost to enter a bird in this one loft race? so surely all entrants will be off the persons best he has to enter, no good entering anything else...i think the ones thats performed well would be good enough for me
tompadel Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 I also appreciate Stuart and Mike letting us all know what they can about birds they know in the sale....cheers to you both tompadel
Jeremy Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Thats right it cost them £100 each so of course they would only put the best in..
Jeremy Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Anyone can come and see and handle the birds if they want.
Jeremy Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Lot 41 handled this bird what a cracking cock bird. ;D
Silverdale Lofts Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 Ribble you wont meet a nicer bloke than Frank he lives about 15 miles from me in a village called swillington just out side of Leeds i used to go buy corn from him years ago and competed against him when i flew north road you can see with is set up Franks not short of money and he will have bought the best from Belgium give him a ring you will be made most welcome the kettle used to be always on when i visited.
swilcox Posted October 2, 2006 Author Report Posted October 2, 2006 Speedwings, what was he/she like, i havent seen the bird but i know that it cost a few thousand euros to breed
Jeremy Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 To me Swilcox it was a perfect cock bird to handle medium size single tail and a nice head on it. I will try and get a photo on here if you want.
swilcox Posted October 2, 2006 Author Report Posted October 2, 2006 That would be great mate as i matched the parents ;D
