Can anyone help my friend with any information regarding lofts situated under or next to electrical pylons; the council has sold the land his lofts were on and the nearest piece of land is under/next to pylons. Does the pigeons suffer, will he suffer? Any information would be gratefully received, thank you

i think there will be some noise from them, like a humming noise, but as far as the birds are concerend, i know a fancier who is in the same situation and has won 2 x 1st national. :-)

Bilco, if memory serves me correct, in the mid to late eighties once wrote that ... though at first he was sceptical to say the least -that once the parents have flown out the youngsters seem to have an inbred notion of where the wires are and hitting them was vey sldom, which of course could be an initial worry.

Was a time... and in some cases I believe authorities are committed to cork them, though I understand they have to be preasured... Worth thinking about or chasing up.

You would need to read up on the effects of 'constant living' in the strong electro-magnetic fields that HT Power lines generate.

Did so a few years back, jury still out there, all sorts of 'unproven' things including cancer clusters, yet some folks have them in their back garden.

Personally, only as a last resort ... must be another more suitable site available surely?

thanks Bruno for your suggestions, i shall read up on the effects over the w-end. I'm afraid that my mate has no other option with his lofts; we are talking south coast councils here, no lofts on allotments, he was lucky to get this plot of land.
