NANCYVIEWLOFTS Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 yes there are 2 sides to every argument i suppose some fanciers buy expencive strains so they can just say they have got one out of this or that some fanciers buy them for buisness purposes i would think most fanciers buy them to hopefully improve their stock with a view to racing their offsprings many fanciers have done extremly well with the m/d evans family with many nationals wins from their stock i personally have never had the beeles just because i am maybe from the old school never wanting to spend fortunes on birds as long as i can continue to win at club/fed open and classic level with a family that i have cultivated myself i will remain a happy man but good luck to those fanciers who by expensive birds because its their choice it would be interesting to know how the beeles have flown into the north west of england at national level just like to end by saying dont call them for buying expensive birds its their choice and remember there are thousands of other birds on offer for you to choose from

Most blokes I saw in the auction room were guys I knew were already winning with those pigeons. Can't get a bigger recommandation than that!!
Guest Paulo Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Still daft prices but if people can afford it and want to buy it top luck to them. I can't give any sermons on wasting money cause I have wasted a bit over the years. Suppose its like everything through no one is forcing them to buy them so fair play. Just got a pair of Gabys myself they certainly look the part can't wait to knock some young birds out of them to see how they do.
swilcox Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 I purchase 5 pigeons from Belgium on Saturday from one of the best Middle/Long distance lofts in the country, 1 was from 3rd Int Dax, 1 From 4th Nat Brive, 1 a full brother to 2nd Nat Casters and a full brother and Sister to 3rd Int Dax. They cost me £190 each and are all bred from children and g-children of Noel Lippens Vital!!!! Too me a bargain, but you pay your money and take your chance but to me they are utter class and it goes to show what is out there if you use your head. Stuart
GREENGRASS Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 nice piece of business that stuart.........so when can we order some youngsters from them ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
frank-123 Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 if you can afford to gamble on buying birds have a gamble because thats what you do whether the cost a £1000 or a tenner its still a gamble i think louella paid big bucks for invicible spirt how many winners has this bred my guess its bred more losers what do you think?
Guest Vic Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Ribble, You are right about the laundering side of pigeons. But as I mentioned on a previous posting, there are many cashing in whilst the sun shines, It wont be shining for long, AND DONT THEY KNOW IT. Vic.. :: >
