johnny11 Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Hi guys apart form the obvious ie get a dog. What is the best tried and tested method for keeping cats out of the garden John
Dave A Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 catapult and ball bearings ( do not shoot the cat with them just bounce them off the floor near them just near enough to make them jump and gently run away lol)
dave Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 go to to your nearest zoo and get some lion sh** and spread it around the shed ;D ;D well if you smelt lions would you go any where near the shed ;D ;D ;D
stevebelbin Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Throw a bucket of water over it, they hate it and rarely come back . The best story ive heard was a lad who kept pigeons had a neighbour with a cat that kept going into the loft, so he caught it and released it 20miles away. Then the next day his neighbour knocked on his door and asked if he give him a lift as the cat had been reported LOL, so he had to go and pick it back up ;D
THE FIFER Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 THE WATER IS THE BEST U CAN GET A SCARECROW CAT REPELENT FROM BODDY AND RIDEWOOD I GOT ONE U ATTACH IT TO UR WATER TAP BY HOSE ANDAS SOON AS ANYTHING COMES IN ITS AREA IT LETS GO WITH WATER, THEY ONLY GET IT ONCE AND WONT COME BACK FOR MORE, U CANNOT USE IT IN WINTER IF FROSTY SO GET ONE NOW,
Roland Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 Electric fencing ... all legal. Some now even run on a nine volt battery and cost less than seventy pounds ... I have a three prong wire that runs of a Mains or car battery, but it is really wasted on my garden, but of course iI use it...
THE FIFER Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 COULD MEMBERS PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHAT U POST REGARDING WHAT TO DO TO CATS, SOME OF THE POSTS ARE BAD FOR THE SPORT AND P/BASICS, U DO NOT KNOW WHO IS LOOKING IN THIS FORUM, I KNOW LOCALY THERE ARE NOTICES IN THE VETS REPORTING CATS GOING MISSING, THERE ARE PLENTY LEGAL WAYS TO KEEP CATS OFF UR PROPERTY,
Guest Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 I've gone hi-tec, bit of belt & braces as taking no chances with cats, rodents etc. Went for the B&R cheapo model, £24, which does cats & foxes. This one is based on variable output ( different pitch / frequencies). Fixed it within the veranda, safe from weather and away from my birds, it 'points' along the front of the loft, and covers 50 foot x 50 foot area. I've fitted two different models inside to deter rodents , and they have other functions too, including ionising the air. No signs or probs since installation a few weeks ago.
