Guest ben Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 Hi Rock, There`s no such thing as "classic" 1 loft racing, just mediocre youngbird 1 loft races, organized by so called"fanciers" who have little intrest in pigeons, more in trying to make money out the sport, then we get individuals, and sydicates entering, more for gambling on getting a 1 or more birds up in the result,so they themselves can bum up their breeding lofts, yet again ,to syphon money out the sport, then last of all ,we get ill imformed, genuine fanciers ,who fall for the spew churched out by these "milkers".thereby giving credability to these promotions, which should have have a goverment warning on all adverts stating...THIS CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR POCKET :'(
Jeremy Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 Ben No offense but i think your talking a load of BULL!!!!!!!
johno Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 with the amount of poor reviews that many of the UK one loft races have had over the last couple of years i do not think that many people will support them. the rpra race at least keeps the entrants up to date with information. the website is updated regularly and all the information both financial and and concerning the pigeons is freely available to participants and anyone else who wants to look at it. unfortunately this is not the case with all races. the quality and regularity of reporting back ranges from excellent in the case of the rpra to woefully unacceptable in some of the other one lofr set ups. anyone intending entering should do their homework and then make their choice. some of the claims that the entry of some of these one loft set up are built are way out. e.g final winning prize money. in some cases the actual prize is 40% of the promotional guideline so read the small print.
Chatrace Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 Hi Rock, 1 loft racing, just mediocre youngbird 1 loft races, organized by so called"fanciers" who have little intrest in pigeons, more in trying to make money out the sport, then we get individuals, and sydicates entering,THIS CAN SERIOUSLY DAMAGE YOUR POCKET :'( You have no Idea what it takes to hold a good 1 loft race or you would never have made those statements. You shouldn't put All Handlers in the same class as you did. It costs me several hundred dollars each year to host the races I have and just enjoy flying others birds and keeping them informed as to how there bird under the same conditions compete againt other stock. I just couldn't let this one slide by, I don't wat to start a battle ,but
rockinrick Posted October 29, 2006 Author Report Posted October 29, 2006 oh wow i didnt expect this responce ,lol all i was askin was if anyone can point me in right direction ,lol thnx for responces :D
Beanz Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 The only thing I have against some of the 1 loft races is that some of them use adverts that are not what they say, eg a team of 3 for £250 but in fact you only get 1 the others are on standby in case you lose the first one and if at the end you have all 3 left it costs you more money a lot more, the only fair ones too me are the RPRA one and the Scttish one as your whole team does fly in the race for the amount stated.
johno Posted October 29, 2006 Report Posted October 29, 2006 the scottish one is extremely short in communications. the pre race publicity concerning prize money is also quite misleading when we see the reality. web site is poor. week to week information poor. length of delay, 3 months before payout of prizemoney is not encouraging. as I stated previously do your homework and believe your ears and eyes. investigate then decide. get the facts
