Beanz Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 Over the last few years Entire clearance sales have appeared with reserves on pigeons, what do people think about this do they think it should be allowed
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 DONT THINK IT SHOULD BE CALLED AN ENTIRE CLEARANCE SALE IF THERE IS THE CHANCE THAT ALL THE ENTIRE BIRDS IN THE SALE MIGHT NOT BE SOLD BECAUSE OF THE RESERVES PUT ON THEM

Guest Paulo Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 he's on fire lately he's taken over the forum lol
square_peg Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 A BIT LIKE A COMISSION BID OF SAY £100 SHOULD THAT NOT MEAN THE COMISSIONER WILL BID UPTO £100 NOT START AT £100
ribble Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 they might have private buyers willing to pay the reserve price, who can't make the auction.at the end of the day it's up to the seller.
NANCYVIEWLOFTS Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 i agree with whats been posted but an entire clearance sale means you cannot race or purchace rings in your name for 3 years it does not mean you cant keep pigeons for 3 years so if a fancier thinks he would rather keep a particular bird thats his right its better he puts a reserve on it than someone running it up off the wall at least you know where you stand and remember you only have to bid as much as you think its worth i personally have never had a entire clearance sale and think its up to the RPRA to alter the ruling if possible but this as i say could result in birds being run up off the wall

Guest slugmonkey Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 I think you have to be aware of what is being sold and how it is advertised is it a Clearance Sale, Entire Clearance Sale or a Everything Must Go Regardless of price sale as these are 3 diffrent events and each mean something diffrent - clearance sale means they're selling some birds- entire clearance means there will be NO pigeons of any kind ( let me clarify this for the sellers who don't understand this means you put ALL of your birds up to sell not just the culls you cant sell on the internet ) - and everything must go means I might have to pay to have this crap hauled off so PLEASE come buy it !!!
Guest slugmonkey Posted October 31, 2006 Report Posted October 31, 2006 P.S. have you noticed when the real producing lofts go out there usally isn't much of a sale but more of a mad dash to get there before the auctioneer arrives
Beanz Posted November 1, 2006 Author Report Posted November 1, 2006 Slugmonkey, advert states in this weeks BHW 27/10/06 AN ENTIRE CLEARANCE SALE ON BEHALF OF MR & MRS MIKE HUGHES lot 37 reserve £500.
Guest speckled Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 well if its say entire clearence sale thats what it should be not next year another then another the following year call me stupid but id a entire clearance sale happends that what it shoulD BE ALL BIRD GONE ON THE DAY. reserved or not. thay wont rid ,so if the reserve price dont make the money :-/ well then th nearest bidder should get it :X :X :X just my thought speck
Beanz Posted November 1, 2006 Author Report Posted November 1, 2006 Many thanks for your views, my own view is that there should be a rule stating that in an entire clearance sale there can be no reserves, I know the seller could just take it out and sell it privately thats his choice but at a sale all should be for sale to the highest bidder.
THE FIFER Posted November 1, 2006 Report Posted November 1, 2006 i agree with whats been posted but an entire clearance sale means you cannot race or purchace rings in your name for 3 years it does not mean you cant keep pigeons for 3 years so if a fancier thinks he would rather keep a particular bird thats his right its better he puts a reserve on it than someone running it up off the wall at least you know where you stand and remember you only have to bid as much as you think its worth i personally have never had a entire clearance sale and think its up to the RPRA to alter the ruling if possible but this as i say could result in birds being run up off the wall THE 3 YEAR THING DOES NOT APPLY TO SHU NOW WAS TAKEN OUT AT 2004 AGM,
