Guest Paulo Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 Anybody feed their pigeons cheese was reading a book by DV Belding and he reckons it. Sounds potty to me lol. He also says you should pair up on the full moon cycle is he wacko?
Dougie Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 Edam cheese grated with peanuts chopped =high energy & protein correct about the full moon cant remember the reason but read it somewhere.
Guest Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 the reason about the moon is something todo with , if you pair up on a full moon the eggs will hatch on a full moon, thus enabling the parents to feed the young longer with the moon light.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted November 3, 2006 Report Posted November 3, 2006 Edam cheese grated with peanuts chopped =high energy & protein correct about the full moon cant remember the reason but read it somewhere. THINK IF PAIRED ON FULL MOON THEY HATCHED ON THE NEXT ONE , DON'T QUOTE ME ON THAT THOUGH MIGHT BE WRONG BUT IT HAS SOMETHING TO DO WITH THE HATCHING

THE FIFER Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 ROUND "O" BHW scribe is a great one for the full moon topic.
Guest Posted November 4, 2006 Report Posted November 4, 2006 Yes Archie, agree that the most recent propenent of full moon pairing is Roundo, his column often features it. If I remember correct he reckons moon governs most if not all natural cycles. Not sure about the racing though, because the race calendar and the lunar cycle calendar aren't the same, and most people [i think] pair up to suit the race calendar. Never heard of feeding pigeons cheese before. ;D But do remember when we used to hand feed the geese over Calendar Park, they much preferred the bits of rolls with margarine and cheese. Reckoned then if they'd lips they'd be licking them. John Harwood used to write in BHW he fed the pigeons bread, and toast. So bread, butter, cheese, toast, tea & marmalade for breakfast? ;D More than I get!
Guest Paulo Posted November 6, 2006 Report Posted November 6, 2006 Well just shows you learn something new everyday about pigeons. Whats the best cheese to feed? Whats the crack with DV Belding then is he famous?
Wiley Posted November 9, 2006 Report Posted November 9, 2006 i like to mate whenever i can ;) my mum dad better not be reading this ;) ;)
