i just have loads of old cds hanging around my garden.

Cd are great to deter Magpies and it's  families... when the sun is out of course. Didn't make a scrape of difference regards hawks for me though.

I agree..... personally i don't think CD really work..Some loft here in FL they put 3 ' (feet)diameter mirror on top of there loft.I think if want to try CD we have to hang them where the hawks usually attacted.

But i think owl call might work though i will try it...

Well simply Instintive. How do birds fly home from where they have never been before... How do butterflies migrate 100's of miles... The Shank when moved to Boston finds wales etc. etc. etc. I think a dear would probably stay away from a lion it' never heard  r seen before... One ofyen hears about Cats ad the pigeons know to stay away from ... Indeed they take some time to land and enter after seeeeing a cat on the top.
