Seanthecamman Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 Hello im a new member on the forum its great lots of info. Anyway got my first 2 racers tonight to breed problem is they are 2 cocks! & rather old both 93 birds will they be ok to fill an egg?
ALF Posted February 18, 2007 Report Posted February 18, 2007 They might not fill the eggs at that age Sean but plenty of doos of their age still do breed so if you get a couple of hens try your luck with them ;)

Seanthecamman Posted February 18, 2007 Author Report Posted February 18, 2007 thanks for the replys reason i ask is that ive had old pouters about 11 that never filled eggs im going to pair them to horseman pouter hens ill give it a try you never know
ray Posted February 19, 2007 Report Posted February 19, 2007 my mate has a 17 year old cock and he filled 4 eggs last year, with a great x3 granddaughter a yearling and hopes he does this year, he,s a staf van reet cock captain fantastic and a belter. put them with a yearling, you know what us oldies are like when a smart young girl comes in the room, they may just fill them once worth a try people dont keep pigeon that old there lucky if they see 3 yrs old unless there worth there salt. ray

Seanthecamman Posted February 19, 2007 Author Report Posted February 19, 2007 Big leedie doo is a horseman pouter the rest are horseman crosses i dont really like horseman pouters as most are poor flyers (fly round the block) so i breed something into them to get them to fly further
