Jeremy Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 Hi All I am looking at running a yearling 1 loft race next year in 2008. My plan is that the owners of the entrants of the 2007 rpra 1 loft race have the option either auctioning there birds or re activating there birds that are left from the final race from Senna Cove. I would limit it to 100 hens and 100 cocks 3 sections flying back to the Centre system which I fly now. I would buy a brand new 72ft tiled loft set up for just these birds. They would be raced on a professional basis. The cost would be £150 per bird all in. There would be 5 races 2 inland 3 across the water with the NFC or classics. They would be 100, 100, 250 , 350 , 450 miles races. You would have a 1 loft race result and a National result. We would pay out big prize either for the Ace bird or the winner of the final race but the entrants would vote on this. I have more plans on this to come. It will the first in the UK. Do you pigeon Basic members think this is a good idea ????
GREENGRASS Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 yes jeremy sounds like a great idea just so long as i have a bird left after the young bird event.
Jeremy Posted March 11, 2007 Author Report Posted March 11, 2007 Well whats left would have all been to 200 miles and put then in good stead for yearlings.. This will take off i am sure.. ;D ;D
GREENGRASS Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 jeremy approx how many have you left at the loft after the final young bird race.
Jeremy Posted March 11, 2007 Author Report Posted March 11, 2007 Hi We had 37 % left which was the highest left in uk 1 loft races..
GREENGRASS Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 no sorry jeremy i was meaning will you have enough to pick 100 hens and 100 cocks for the yearling series,
Jeremy Posted March 11, 2007 Author Report Posted March 11, 2007 Well there were 370 in 2006 left so hopefully there will be 100 of each...
GREENGRASS Posted March 11, 2007 Report Posted March 11, 2007 no probems jeremy best of luck with getting it off the ground.
Blue Chequer Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 I just can't believe that two thirds of the entrants are lost from these one loft races. How many get reported? where do they all go? I don't like the idea of Peacocks & Geese soiling the land in front of the lofts, it looks like a Cocci paradise to me.
Guest paulrstokes Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 Hi Jeremy If I had birds left I think I would certainly reactivate, and have a go. It would give North Road flyers a good opportunity to compete in the south road Nationals. I am sure it would take off. Good Luck
Guest Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 ;D excellent idea . sounds great , i would love to have a go if i had decent birds and a lot more money in my pocket ?? andy

Look at the Vanrobay only about 50 % go to East prawel and thats flying back to there own lofts. As for the peacocks and the geese they carry a different strain of cocci to pigeons. The pigeons are tested for cooci every month and they results are very low which is normal. My birds go on the grass with them and they have won well every year. And i don`t want to argue with someone who does not post there name. ;D ;D ;D
Guest jason Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 I think its a great idea Jeremy you go for it mate Jason
pigeonpete Posted March 12, 2007 Report Posted March 12, 2007 good idea jeremy mate, what do you do if you get more than your required birds though??
