gangster Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 just got back from show it was very poor stall wise, very dissapointed, but on the plus side met up with snowy/westy/family and briefly pouw22 who dissapeared i was looking for you pouw22....all in all not enough stalls and at a £5 entrance a bit o/priced........................
Guest paulrstokes Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 I agree. Paid £5.00 for what?? We got there at 9.40 just as two guys were leaving, thought at that point that it would be small. could have been and gone in 20 minutes. No wonder it was not advertised confirming what stalls would be in attendance. Won't bother wasting the petrol next year.
Wiley Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 glad i never went again then, went last year was disappointed with it, sounds like it wasnt a good show. did they have the other hall open? cos last year could look round in 5 mins

peterpau Posted March 17, 2007 Report Posted March 17, 2007 Well we managed to sell most of our youngsters and were happy to come away with just the two youngest. However we too were very dissapointed. The sale birds were crammed in the one end almost as if they weren't wanted.
gangster Posted March 17, 2007 Author Report Posted March 17, 2007 i noticed that 2 the youngsters were ok not avin ago at them the rest was rubbish............

Everything was bred from birds that have been in the National result at 500 600 miles though. I did think they didn't look happy sat in the cold.

Guest Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Sorry to hear the poor comments, glad I went to the local with all the English lads to watch the rugby.......shame about the result boys :) :) :)
gangster Posted March 18, 2007 Author Report Posted March 18, 2007 to be truthful im sorry for the lads with youngsters coz were they were did them no favours at all ,there were some bonny youngsters my mate bought a black 1 he was happy so it was not all bad did meet up with snowy/westy/family it was nice to meet you...only a gangster when it goes dark.......... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D...also met pouw22 again but i could not see you needing anything there coz them birds of yours is CLASS..............
peterpau Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Didn't complain myself just didn't pay the full price for the stand and the Welsh boy next to me was going to do the same. Gangster did your mate by one of our blacks? The only good thing is I wasn't stood next to the welsh boy when the rugger was on. We were in the millenium stadium last time to see England lose . Good day out though for me and me boys. As for standing outside I recon it would have been warmer.
nutverlal Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 hi there What a waste of money. When I rang up I was told all type of pigeon including tipplers, tumbers, racers and other breeds. got there and paid nthe entrance fee- ten minutes later i was on the way out. I did not meet anyone that I knew in the racing game. What a scam - so I complaint but was only given an apology and a excuss which was the bird flu. I think we need organise a better one locally. thanks
Poacher Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 Well its the Dome next week this Spring Fair is run by Ray Knight, he started the Spring Fairs in this country 5 years ago at Stafford, others have since tried to copy but this is NUMBER 1, its now at the Dome at Doncaster, the venue is excellent, Ive took the kids the last two years there, the eldest goes ice skating and the missis and youngest goes swimming in the Lagoon type fun pool and me well I do the pigeon thing nd a few pints, if your going I'll se you there!
gangster Posted March 18, 2007 Author Report Posted March 18, 2007 peterpau....may have been its nestmate was a blk w/flt and the mother was underneath a blk also a grizzle and a few mealys, if this was your stall next 2 raymond/stuart i was talking to you about the breeding of the blk ...
peterpau Posted March 18, 2007 Report Posted March 18, 2007 That'll be one of ours then. We took 5 blacks 5 barless mealys 2 grizzles and a red. The Blacks's a Krauth hen been paired to a red Buscheart cock both been on the National result at 500miles and this is where all the barless come from aswell. Hope it doesn't let me down. Wouldn't want someone to think they had bought rubbish from me. Never sold pigeons before and only sold them 'cos we plan to move.
