Guest Posted April 11, 2007 Report Posted April 11, 2007 Very interested in Kirkpatricks, when I started up again it seemed to be one name that kept cropping up down thro the years. Funny I don't remember them way back in the 60's tho. Galabank King, etc were Kirkpatrick originals. Went to LPW. Think Stan the Man from 1990's must be amongst the most famous tho, 14 x 1sts from 80 miles out 526 miles; 4 x 1st Lerwick; 7 x 1st Thurso 420 miles. 10 x 2nd, and 45 x in first 3. Then of course there's Sir Colin also from 1990's - but Jimmy White will tell you more on him.

Guest Posted April 12, 2007 Report Posted April 12, 2007 the old chap over the back from me spent a fortune on kilpatricks they were buying from george dawes and they never got a thing out them, do you think somebody has decendants of the original strain after this time ? very unlikely a lot will claim to have them as in all strains they were made up but these were made up with the finest of long distance racing pigeons and it was only the best that everwent into them ,people call them this and that but as soon as you start your breeding programme on them they are yours as johny kirkparick would maybe have not even kept some of them for racing never mind breeding, as in pedigrees paper takes on anything they can be this or that and dont tell me it dont happen cause it does .
