Barbyl if you want to work it out by hand it's the following:

 

Miles x 1760 + yards, divided by minutes.

 

eg 71 miles x 1760 + 1635yards = 126595

 

1hr 10 = 70mins.

 

126595 divided by 70 = 1808.5ypm
