Yorkshire Lass Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Just thought fanciers further down the country may like to know we have reports of three birds back into North Yorkshire which were liberated with the NRCC this morning at 6am. I believe (although these are only reports; nothing concrete) the first birds landed about 3.30pm and would have flown approximately 430 miles. Good luck to everyone else waiting for arrivals.
ransom50 Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 joe shutt 2 together 3.25 and 1 at 4.10 times not aprox ;D ;D
Guest Posted June 30, 2007 Report Posted June 30, 2007 Deano, he's still agreat fancier, always has been always will!!
Yorkshire Lass Posted July 1, 2007 Author Report Posted July 1, 2007 The race was excellent despite showery conditions here in Yorkshire. I see from the NRCC website that the provisional winning velocity is 1333. The results shows 40 birds with the bottom velocity dropping down to in the 900s. I understand conditions on the island were perfect - did you take any pictures of the liberation this year?
Roland Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Can get the NRCC website up of course, but can't seem to find. outside of Liberations time, any update on the Lerwicke race!
Wiley Posted July 1, 2007 Report Posted July 1, 2007 Im lead to believe local lad Teddy Gunn had first bird home into london!

It was a cracking morning here in Shetland with a light NE wind. We had our own short race from Fair Isle in the afternoon and the conditions were still excellent then. Absolutley zero strays around so far, so I hope you had good returns... it is a hard race so the winners are special pigeons, as are all who fly the course. Well done all concerned. My congrats to the winners and commiserations to those still waiting Hopefully I'll manage again next year.
