doos r us Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 stick me down frank were racing 40 south 14 north
andy Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Frank, I,did my own survey on my own birds last year, which were extremely healthy throughout the pre-racing and racing season. The losses were heavier or returns patchy 3 days either side of the high solar flare activity which always seems to occur 1st or 2nd week in August. Hope your findings are successful, good luck Andy ;D Ps:There was quite a high solar flare activity on Thu/Fri past. Any losses????
Guest Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 We were directed to pipa site recently for info on France. Turned up following topic then on losses in South Africa on 2nd June. The big problem for me is solar flares and pigeon losses occur world-wide, so if they are connected very least we can expect is that world-wide losses would occur on same race day. This link proves they didn't on 2nd June anyways. http://www.pipa.be/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4637
celtic Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 Is this the sloar flare activity that roundo and bilco comment on in their articles in the bhw ? seems to be a lot of sense to what they say.
Guest Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 this is one of the things i want to look at andy on sat when i lost all my y/birds well allmost there was a sun spot and i want to see if there is realy something in that allso weather/wind/ diferent days of the week south/north time liberated weather etc i think they are the basic things we all know about the hawk probs not alot we can do about that exept try and stay out there way but they are all over now maybe alter lib times i think we have to do something it very nearly drove me out the sport on sat but i think you know iam a stuborn b------- and wont give up without a fight lets see
Guest Posted July 2, 2007 Report Posted July 2, 2007 well done lads send me a pm i only have 2 just now
jimmy white Posted July 3, 2007 Report Posted July 3, 2007 could be very interesting dooman ,, good luck , may see your findings at a later time,,, just out of curiosity ,like many , i raced too many for the size of loft , i nearly allways found that i was left with the anmount the late david palmer advocated i,e,a half to 1cubic metre per pigeon , coincidence,,i dont know
Guest Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 looks like a non starter just 3 pms still may be fanciers could post on this thread when they have a bad toss/race and let us know the date wind time/lib south/north road etc to the three that did reply thanks very much but i dont think i would get a good average with just 3 if you post results on here i can still try and see if anything jumps out,
Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted July 4, 2007 Report Posted July 4, 2007 Just tossed 22 young at 2032 from 12 miles and only got 8 home :'( :'( light variable wind released east from the loft
