First Success novice status busted

Well good weekend for me in the second race of my career took 4th postion in the club out of 440 birds. Got beaten to 3rd by 2 seconds and to first by a minute and a half.

 

Should have won but the pigeon wouldn't come in lol we've all heard that one ;D ;D ;D

 

The bloke who beat me to 3rd took first 4 positions in the club last week and first 5 postions in the fed and has overfly on me by quite a bit. So no disgrace getting beaten by him. I'll get him next week through lol. He sent 40 odd birds I sent 24 birds and got 21 back loosing three which was a bit of a pisser but these things happen in war.

 

Pigeon was a Gaby Vandebeele bred by myself from a pair of stock birds I brought from stevebelbin who orginally got them through Mike Lycett and its got my only futity ring on so hope he does good in the big race.

 

Thanks to everyone on here for all the advice and help.

 

I'd especially like to thank stevebelbin and davey B for their advice which has helped me get the pigeons in condition and moviated  to win.

 

I think my dad was proud of me despite the classic line "told you you've got to get your act together with clocking in you useless git beat by two poxy seconds.''

 

My comeback did you win owt in your second ever race? "yes actually 1st, 2nd and 23rd :X

Thanks lads it was a quality feeling almost as good as having my first fight in the ring and putting the guy on his *expletive removed* in the 2nd round.

 

Hopefully I'll get somewhere next week gutted cause the birds are falling to bits will have to swot up on the dark for next year

thanks everyone going to take it easy this year as these birds are the foundations of my loft plus they aren't on the dark.

 

Couldn't send five of them to the first two races cause their ears were uncovered will have to put them in the two droppy backs. Still I whined on about them being all different ages but they are giving me a bit choice of what to send at the moment as they are all in different stages of the moult

Dirrty boy I don't have much action with non feathered birds these days I'll have to get my party lifestyle back in the winter the pigeons will just be getting beans then and let out and cleaned out once a week leaving me free to drink more than boris yeltsen and trying my chat up lines on the lasses at the minute through I have no crack unless its about gerry plus or widowhood lol ;D ;D
